Being Chosen By The Most High God
Chosen From Birth
Being chosen by God is a special calling that is upon a person’s life that is often discussed in Christianity. The bible makes it clear that “Many are called but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). Being chosen by God means that God has placed a special purpose upon your life as you are not a regular person.
God has chosen you to be a light amongst the world as God will use you mightily to impact the world and to bring changes to many lives.
Like the Prophet Jeremiah who God knew before the foundation of the world and from inside of him mother’s womb.
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)
God knew his chosen people before the foundation of the world. God handpicked you to follow him and to obey God’s will for your life. Being chosen by God brings favor upon your life as God has preordained your path to success.
“In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will” (Ephesians 1:11).
When God has ordained you for success and predestined your path, no evil plan of the enemy can stop you. It is one thing when man tries to make his own plans according to his own will, but it is a different circumstance when God has ordained your path to success. God’s will never fail as everything that God does is good.
Being chosen by God is a special calling as stated with all the tremendous blessings and favor that God has in store for his people who are seeking Jesus Christ and following his will.
However, being chosen by God is a walk that you must have tough skin because it will not always be easy. Being chosen by God means that you will face persecution from many people in the world including possibly your own family and friends.
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” (John 15:19).
You will face persecution when walking in God’s plans and striving to live for Jesus Christ. For instance, at your workplace your coworkers might offer you to go out together after work and get drunk at the club. You refuse to partake in sin and now your coworkers might deem you strange, weird or start to dislike you.
Not only will you face persecution from the world, but you will be tested by satan who is always looking to tempt God’s people into sin. For instance, when Jesus came off his 40 days fast, satan was the first one to show up and try to tempt the messiah. However, Jesus Christ knew what satan was doing and rebuked the enemy with scriptures. (Matthew 4:1-11).
Being chosen by God means that you cannot allow open doors for the enemy to destroy you as satan is looking for ways to destroy God’s people. A tremendous example is satan using Delilah to weaken Samson who was a mighty warrior of God (Judges 16:17). Satan’s goal is to get people to disobey God to die in sin and to go to hell.
It is vital as child of God to stay close to God and to eliminate any possible distractions, places or people that can stray you away from God. Being chosen by God means that not everybody can be in your circle because not everyone who smiles is your friend. The wrong company in your circle can hinder your walk with God and even destroy your life.
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” (1 Corinthians 15:33).
An example of bad company corrupting a chosen man/woman of Jesus Christ is your friend going outside and starting trouble with someone in the neighborhood. Now you go hang out with your friend and that person in the neighborhood now might target both of you because they think that you agree with their actions.
In that split second your life can change as the people you hang with reflects your character as birds of a feather flock together.
Being chosen by God is a tremendous blessing but it still comes with a heavy price as you must understand that you must be a God pleaser not a man pleaser. You cannot seek to please people because following Jesus Christ might cause you to make decisions that might displease a lot of people. For instance, a Godly man who no longer cusses with his guy friends, and he now spends time in the house getting closer to God.
The road will not be easy following Jesus Christ, but it is worth it in the end when we reach our eternal home in heaven with our savior Jesus Christ. Amen
