Staying Faithful To God
Following God is the best decision that you can make in your entire life because when God is directing you, you will never fail. However, that does not mean that this walk with God is easy as it can come with obstacles. Being a follower of Christ in today’s society can be challenging due to the large number of temptations that surrounds us on a daily basis.
The enemy satan will send many temptations to try to get you into sin so that he can destroy you and hinder your walk with God. Temptations will come in many forms such as people trying to get you to drink, smoke, come to the next party and various more. You can be a man or woman and people might try to flirt with you on the job, street or at school trying to lead you to commit fornication or adultery.
Even in today’s music especially in Hip- Hop, you see the glorification of sex, money, drugs, alcohol and violence being promoted throughout the music. These various temptations have destroyed many Christians and have lead many of them into sin which is why many Christians have become lukewarm or an atheist. However, through the power of the Holy Spirit, resisting the flesh, fasting and prayer along with being rooted in the bible can help you resist these temptations.
Even the messiah Jesus Christ himself was tempted by satan (Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13) but he stayed focused on fulfilling his purpose and pleasing God the Father. Jesus resisted satan and through his power, we can do the same as his followers as it states to resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7).
Fight the good fight as the Apostle Paul stated (Timothy 6:12) and stay focused on God as you will have to an account for how you live your life on earth (Romans 14:12). Stayed focused on God and keep seeking the Lord Jesus Christ.
